Flora and Florogenesis Research Group
The main scientific and applied studies of the research group are focused on:
- Composition, structure and formation of the flora;
- Taxonomy and evolution of vascular plants and mosses by application of anatomical, morphological, embryological, karyological, molecular, ecological, etc. methods;
- Distribution and ecology of the plants;
- Mapping, monitoring, assessing the status and conservation of rare, protected and endangered plant species, habitats and protected areas;
- Elaboration of Action plans for endangered plant species and Management plans for protected territories;
- Restoration of populations of endangered plant species;
- Inventory and distribution of alien and invasive species, risk assessment and mitigation of their impact on local species and ecosystems;
- Development and maintenance of databases on plant biodiversity;
- Training, etc.
The team of the research group conducts its studies in field and in the following laboratories:

- Embryological;
- Vegetation house.
